Learn more about one of the
Historic Homes In The Area
|
|

Built from 1881-1883, what is
commonly known as the
Robinson-Sims house is actually
the
Robinson-Sims-Reed-Richardson-Craig-Ruston-Sawyer-Peterson-Reed
house. The present owners, Allan
and Jayne, purchased the home in
2005. “We were attracted to this
area because we loved the quiet
setting, the proximity to the
water, the golf course and all
of the beautiful older homes. We
were looking for an old house,
one with lots of charm, and we
looked at five Victorians in
Warwick Neck before choosing
this one.” The home is a Queen
Anne Victorian, currently
painted in the classic
four-color, “painted lady”
style. Allan and Jayne have
spent the last two years doing
major restoration and upgrading
to the house. They started by
installing a new roof, a new
heating system, updated
electrical wiring, central air
conditioning, an alarm system
and fire detection system. The
porch flooring and all supports
have been replaced. They have
restored all of the hardwood
floors, updated bathrooms, added
a third floor family room, a
first floor mudroom, multiple
closets, and re-plastered and
painted almost every room in the
house. They have restored,
repaired, replaced or removed
each of the 73 windows, and most
of the doors. An extensive
landscaping project was
undertaken, including the
addition of fruit trees,
walkways and a patio. “We wanted
to return this home to the grand
Victorian that it once was. We
were able to retain all of the
original architecture and
materials, while making it
comfortable for modern living.
I’ve done extensive research on
the home and located previous
owners so that we could get a
real feel for what the house was
like in the past. We feel like
the caretakers of a piece of
history, and yet this is our
home, a place where we envision
our grandchildren coming to
visit someday. We plan to be
here for a long time!” |

Real Estate
Services
At Slocum Realty we
believe in one key thing…outstanding
customer service and the power of the
handshake that creates that commitment.
Whether you’re buying or selling, if it’s
your first home or a million dollar estate,
Phil Slocum says “you will receive
the finest customer service available in the
real estate industry today. My name's
riding on it and the people who honor us
with their business are more than our
customer’s… when we’re all done, they’re our
friends”.
We do business throughout the
entire state of Rhode Island but when it
comes to Warwick Neck, this is home for us
too.
Three generations of Slocum’s have
grown up and lived on Warwick Neck. From
George & Hazel Slocum to Phil and his son
Nick, the Slocum’s have been here since the
early 60’s. Mark McHugh has continued that
“family tradition” establishing Warwick Neck
as his family homestead as well as enjoying and
being involved in everything that makes Warwick
Neck that “special” place we all know and
love.
If you're looking to join us here on
“The Neck” call Phil, Mark and Nick for the
keys. If you’re thinking of selling...talk to
the guys who understand the passion of “The
Neck” and be sure to ask about our “Day-to-Day" listing.
